The Presidency of the Kurdistan Region announced on Friday details of a meeting between the region's president, Nechirvan Barzani, and Syrian President Ahmed Al-Sharaa in Antalya, Turkey.
According to the statement, the meeting discussed the future of Syria's relations with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region based on good neighborliness and shared interests, emphasizing the need to combat the threat of ISIS.
Al-Sharaa expressed his vision for Syria to be inclusive of all components, a country for all citizens and sects, with a constitution that protects their rights.
The statement added that the President of the Kurdistan Region praised the Syrian President's views, stressing the importance of peace and stability in the country and a political solution to the problems that ensure the rights of all components, especially the Kurdish people in Syria, to maintain peace and stability in the region.
In this context, Al-Sharaa affirmed his country's desire to establish strong relations with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region to serve the interests of both sides and contribute to achieving peace and stability in the region.
The meeting also addressed the regional crisis and its repercussions on Iraq and Syria.
