The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned on Friday the attack launched by Israel on a gathering of Palestinians at a shelter in Al-Tuffah neighborhood, east of Gaza. It urged the international community to assume its legal and moral responsibilities to end the violations.
In a statement, the ministry said, "The Republic of Iraq expresses its strong condemnation and denunciation of the aggression carried out by Israeli forces against the occupied Palestinian territories, which resulted in the martyrdom of several innocent civilians who were gathered in a shelter affiliated with Dar Al-Arqam School, located in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood, east of Gaza City."
The ministry added, "We strongly condemn the destruction of a medical and relief supplies warehouse affiliated with the Saudi Center for Culture and Heritage by the occupation forces, which constitutes a blatant violation of international humanitarian law and all human values."
Iraq reaffirmed its steadfast position in supporting the Palestinian cause and called on the international community to uphold its legal and moral responsibilities to stop these repeated violations and provide international protection for the Palestinian people.
Palestinian media reported on Thursday evening renewed Zionist strikes on two schools housing displaced persons east of Gaza City, completely destroying them.
Zionist aircraft launched raids on Dar Al-Arqam and Fahd Al-Sabah Schools in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood, causing the martyrdom and injury of more than 130 displaced individuals.
Palestinian sources indicated that "the occupation's aircraft destroyed the schools after forcibly evacuating displaced people under the threat of initial airstrikes, followed by a second strike."
Earlier on Thursday, more than 29 people were martyred, and dozens were injured following Zionist shelling targeting Dar Al-Arqam School, which housed displaced individuals in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood, east of Gaza.
