Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani launched the execution of 10,000 residential land plots on Wednesday as part of the government's project to distribute serviced residential lands in Nahrawan city, Baghdad province.
Al-Sudani conducted a field tour of a completed model of the serviced land plots ready for distribution, covering an area of 100 dunams out of the total 2,500 dunams of the project, which includes 10,000 housing units. He also surveyed the entire project area during an aerial tour.
He praised the efforts of the Ministry of Construction, Housing, and Municipalities, Baghdad province, and all engineering and administrative staff working on this important project. The project adopts a new approach to distributing residential lands with integrated services to citizens, in line with the government's vision and approach to addressing the housing crisis.
Al-Sudani pointed out that this project includes the provision of sewage networks, potable water, electricity, telecommunications, roads, schools, offices, and health centers. He emphasized that the Ministry of Construction, Housing, and Municipalities, along with Baghdad province, are responsible for delivering comprehensive services to this site.
He explained that the government's approach involves opening up to the outskirts of cities, including the city of Al-Fursan, designated for officers and personnel of the Ministry of Defense, and an agreement with a real estate developer to provide services. He also mentioned the larger project of Al-Ward city, which includes 100,000 housing units. These projects, along with Bismayah City and the newly announced housing projects, will be equivalent to a new province next to Baghdad.
Key points from the Prime Minister's speech included:

- The new projects at this site are capable of fully resolving the housing crisis and will provide various options for citizens at different living standards.
- The government has adopted an approach to provide housing for citizens based on their social categories and financial capabilities.
- Work on housing projects in Baghdad and other provinces will continue, with a project to be completed and inaugurated after adopting the real estate developer mechanism and providing services.
- We are quietly working on implementing our priorities and program, relying on successful tools, and this is our promise to the citizens.
- Our government program stipulated the distribution of 500,000 housing units, and work continues to achieve this, with administrative procedures causing the delay.
