Iranian Interior Minister arrives in Baghdad.

Iranian Interior Minister Iskandar Momeni arrived in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, on Saturday morning at the invitation of his Iraqi counterpart Abdul Amir Al-Shammari to discuss bilateral relations and regional issues, according to the official Iranian news agency "IRNA.

According to sources, the visit will last for two days. Momeni was received by Iraqi Deputy Interior Minister General Ziyad Ziyad and Iran's Ambassador to Iraq, Mohammad Kazem Al-Sadeq.

Accompanying the Iranian Interior Minister on his visit to Baghdad are Ali Akbar Poorjamshidian, Deputy Minister of Security and Law Enforcement, and Sardar Seyyed Teymour Hosseini, Head of Iranian Police.

Sources indicated that the visit aims to discuss bilateral relations and regional issues, combat terrorism, arms and drug trafficking, and cooperate on border issues and resolving border problems. Additionally, there will be preliminary coordination for the Arbaeen ceremonies.

The Iranian Ministry of Interior revealed on Friday that a memorandum of understanding between Iraq and Iran, which would allow the issuance of driving licenses for residents of both countries to facilitate the use of their vehicles, is close to being signed.

The Iranian Ministry of Interior told Shafaq News that "Iranian Interior Minister Iskandar Momeni will visit Baghdad on Saturday morning to sign a memorandum of understanding, the first of its kind, regarding the issuance of driving licenses between the two countries.

The ministry explained that "the memorandum initially covers residents in both countries, meaning that Iraqis living in Iran and Iranians in Iraq will be able, once the memorandum comes into effect, to translate their driving licenses and have them officially recognized, allowing them to use their vehicles during visits and travel.
