Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani discussed common agreements and understandings between Baghdad and Washington with U.S. Senator Elissa Slotkin on Saturday.
The Prime Minister's Office stated in a release that "Al-Sudani received Senator Elissa Slotkin, a member of the U.S. Senate from the Democratic Party, at his residence in Munich on Saturday.
The statement added that "the meeting discussed the relations and ways to enhance cooperation between Iraq and the United States in various fields in light of common agreements and understandings for a long-term strategic relationship that serves the interests of both parties.
Senator Slotkin, according to the statement, reaffirmed her country's support for Iraq and its aspirations, as well as its efforts to achieve security and stability in the region, ensuring the interests of the regional countries and enhancing sustainable stability.
