Military Operations Administration spokesperson Hassan Abdul Ghani announced several decisions during the Victory Conference held in Damascus on Wednesday evening.
The conference was attended by faction leaders. The most prominent of these decisions was the appointment of Ahmed Al-Sharaa as the head of Syria during the transitional phase.
Additionally, Al-Sharaa was authorized to form a temporary legislative council for the transitional phase, which will carry out its duties until a permanent constitution is approved and comes into effect.
Al-Sharaa also dissolved the ruling Baath Party of the previous regime, as well as all security agencies affiliated with the previous regime in their various branches and names, and all militias it had established, forming a new security institution.
He dissolved the previous regime's army and announced the rebuilding of the Syrian army on national foundations, as he described.
Al-Sharaa also dissolved the People's Assembly and its committees, abolished the 2012 constitution, and dissolved all military factions, revolutionary, political, and civil bodies, integrating them into state institutions.
He declared December 8th of each year, the date of the fall of the previous regime, as a national holiday.
