Reuters reported on Monday that French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot announced the lifting of some sanctions on Syria.
This comes as European Union Foreign Minister Kaja Kallas stated that she expects the EU to agree on Monday to begin easing sanctions on Syria following the ousting of Bashar al-Assad.
Kallas said at the start of an EU Foreign Ministers' meeting in Brussels, "We expect to make a decision on this matter today; it is a gradual approach.
