The Israeli army announced on Sunday evening the receipt of the three female prisoners released by Hamas as part of the exchange agreement.
In a statement, the Israeli army spokesperson said, "The three returnees are now accompanied by a special unit of the Israeli Defense Forces and the Shin Bet on their way to Israel, where they will undergo an initial medical evaluation.
The spokesperson requested that the public "show responsibility and sensitivity by respecting the privacy of the returnees and their families.
The release of the female prisoners comes on the first day of the ceasefire in Gaza.
The detainees are Rumi Gonen (24 years old), Emily Damari (28 years old), and Doron Shtanbar Kher (31 years old).
