The Russian embassy in Washington accused the outgoing administration of U.S. President Joe Biden of seeking to empty American taxpayers' pockets to continue providing aid to Ukraine.
In a comment posted on its Telegram channel, the embassy stated: "Attention is drawn to the next package of military and financial aid to the Kyiv regime announced by the White House, amounting to billions of dollars. As their departure approaches, this administration seeks to further empty American taxpayers' pockets to support the clearly losing Ukrainian project. The audacity lies in the fact that the U.S. authorities announced their decision just before the New Year, hoping that this bloody gift will allow Zelensky and his clique to continue resisting the Russian army.
The embassy believes that the authorities in Washington "still dream of inflicting a strategic defeat on Russia," but these attempts only prolong the agony of the neo-Nazis in Kyiv.
The Russian embassy urged the American public and Ukrainian citizens to consider what the actions of Kyiv's Western patrons will ultimately lead to, apart from disasters for the Ukrainian people.
Earlier, U.S. President Joe Biden announced the allocation of nearly $2.5 billion in security assistance to the Kyiv regime. The U.S. administration also pledged to send budgetary assistance to Ukraine amounting to $3.4 billion, thus spending the remaining funds allocated by Congress this year to support Kyiv.
