The General Command of Military Operations in Syria announced today, Saturday, the appointment of Assad Hassan Al-Shaibani as the foreign minister in the transitional government, according to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA).
The agency stated, "The General Command announces the appointment of Mr. Assad Hassan Al-Shaibani as the foreign minister in the new Syrian government.
Al-Shaibani, from the Bani Shaiban tribe, was born in Al-Hasakah Governorate in 1987. He moved with his family to Damascus, where he graduated from its university in 2009 with a degree in English Language and Literature from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities.
He joined the Syrian revolution from its beginning in 2011, participated in the establishment of the Syrian Salvation Government, and founded the Political Affairs Administration. He worked in the humanitarian field, established relations with the United Nations and its agencies, and facilitated humanitarian work in northwestern Syria.
Al-Shaibani obtained a master's degree in Political Science and International Relations from Turkey in 2022.
