Our Forces are Ready: Head of the National Security Service Warns of ISIS Plot to Attack Prisons in Syria.

The head of the National Security Service, Abdul Karim Abdul Fadel (Abu Ali Al-Basri), announced the readiness of security forces to face any threats, whether external or internal, warning of a plot by ISIS terrorist gangs to attack prisons in Syria and release terrorists.

Al-Basri said in a statement to the official newspaper followed by (Al-Rabi'a): "We warn of the consequences of the potential escape of terrorists (Iraqi or foreign detainees) in prisons in western Syria (Al-Hol and Silos) in Raqqa and the (Industrial Secondary School) prison in the city of Hasakah in northwestern Syria, which poses a threat if a mass escape occurs, affecting regional and international security.

He pointed out that "ISIS terrorist gangs are planning to launch attacks on prisons in Syria to release thousands of terrorists of various nationalities, who are still under the control of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

He confirmed that "the Iraqi security agencies are raising their alert level to face any attempts to destabilize national security.

Al-Basri stressed that "this does not prevent raising the alert in expanding the mission from merely focusing on internal threats to a broad reconnaissance operation targeting the pursuit of terrorists who pose an imminent danger both in Iraq and the region and the world.

He explained that "the National Security Service has unlimited capabilities in intelligence surveillance and tracking terrorist targets inside and outside Iraq, and there are intense efforts to expand the scope of intelligence reconnaissance to include regional risks that threaten national and international security." He noted that the "service has the ability to neutralize potential terrorists, especially those who may try to infiltrate Iraq to carry out terrorist attacks."
