The leader of "Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham," known as "Abu Mohammad al-Joulani," who leads Syrian factions that toppled President Bashar al-Assad, announced that the new authorities in Syria will soon publish a "first list of senior officials involved in torturing the Syrian people" to pursue and hold them accountable.
In a statement published early Tuesday on the Telegram app, al-Joulani, who has abandoned his alias and now uses his real name, Ahmad al-Sharif, said: "We will offer rewards for information about senior army and security officers involved in war crimes.
He added, "We will not hesitate to hold accountable the criminals, killers, and security and army officers involved in torturing the Syrian people. We will pursue war criminals and demand them from the countries they fled to so they can receive their just punishment.
