He emphasized during a press conference after receiving an honorary doctorate in international relations from the University of Jordan that solutions "come through negotiations for a just peace and land sharing, and this is what the two-state solution means. The voice of reason must prevail over the voice of hatred as the only way to achieve peace.
He called for an end to impunity, the investigation and prosecution of war crimes and crimes against humanity, emphasizing the necessity of the voice of wisdom prevailing over the voice of hatred. He also urged not to listen to those who promote total victory and that there is no security without peace, no peace without justice, and no justice without comprehensive and impartial accountability.
