The U.S. Senate rejects a bill that would prevent the United States from selling tank shells to Israel.

The council rejected three proposed laws. The first called for banning the sale of tank shells, which was rejected by a majority of 18 votes against 79. The second, which aimed to ban the sale of mortar shells, was rejected by a majority of 19 votes against 78. The third, which sought to ban the sale of joint direct attack munitions, was rejected by a majority of 17 votes against 80.

The voting results showed a rejection of all the resolutions that attempted to prevent the sale and supply of weapons to Israel, including tank munitions, high-explosive shells, and technologies to modify conventional bombs and shells to turn them into "smart" ones.

The bills received support from a group of independent and Democratic members.

It is noted that the joint resolutions were presented to the Senate by Senator Bernie Sanders with the support of another group of lawmakers.

Hours before the decision to oppose the resolutions, Sanders wrote on his account on the "X" platform: "As the Senate prepares to vote on banning offensive weapons sales to Israel, let us remember: (Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin) Netanyahu has violated international and American law, violated human rights, and obstructed the delivery of humanitarian aid (to the Gaza Strip).
He added, "It is illegal for our government to provide him with more offensive weapons."
