North Korean leader Kim Jong Un called for the "unlimited" strengthening of the country's nuclear forces and the completion of war preparations as the country's enemies increased their "frenzied" military confrontations with North Korea, state media reported on Monday.
Kim Jong Un said in his speech, "We will enhance our self-defense capabilities, which focus on nuclear forces, without restrictions, and we will not be satisfied (with our current level) and without interruption.
Kim Jong Un demanded that his country's army focus all its efforts on completing war preparations.
The North Korean leader described the Korean Peninsula as "the biggest hotspot in the world" in a speech to battalion leaders in Pyongyang on Friday.
Kim also accused the United States and South Korea of causing tensions on the peninsula to reach "the worst stage in history," according to the North Korean news agency.
