Prime Minister Mr. Mohammed Shia' al-Sudani inaugurated the Iraqi-Korean Specialized Hospital for Critical Care (Intensive Care) in the Medical City in Baghdad.
The Prime Minister referred to the government's efforts in the health sector and its commitment to cooperating with trusted global companies as an established course of action. He emphasized that specialized centers are a crucial pillar in health services and the importance of generalizing this experience with the advanced technologies it has provided, in addition to the significance of proceeding with the implementation of health insurance.
The Minister of Health presented to the Prime Minister the achievements made during the two years of the government's term, in accordance with the adopted government program. He confirmed the completion of 13 new hospitals, 3 specialized centers, 2 burn centers, and 25 kidney treatment centers, in addition to 16 hospitals currently under construction, as well as health insurance and joint management and operation, the positive results of which the citizens have begun to feel.
The newly inaugurated hospital, which is the first of its kind in Iraq, consists of 4 floors with a capacity of 74 beds, 3 surgical operation rooms equipped with the latest medical devices, an advanced center for cardiac and brain catheterization, and two surgical microscopes.
The hospital was also equipped with more than 2,250 medical devices, including advanced devices for endoscopic surgeries of the digestive system and 17 devices for kidney failure patients, and it contains recovery and isolation rooms, an advanced laboratory, a pharmacy, a blood bank, a CT scanner, an MRI, and advanced imaging equipment.
