The Prime Minister, Mr. Mohammed Shia' Al-Sudani, met today, Monday in Riyadh, with the Lebanese Prime Minister, Mr. Najib Mikati, on the sidelines of the joint Arab-Islamic summit to discuss the aggression against Gaza and Lebanon, hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The meeting witnessed a review of the latest developments in the ongoing Zionist aggression against Lebanon and Gaza, and the international and regional efforts to stop the war and prevent the expansion of the conflict in the Middle East.
Mr. Al-Sudani reiterated to Mr. Mikati Iraq's full solidarity with Lebanon and its brotherly people, and its support for all efforts aimed at protecting the Lebanese people and their sovereignty over their land, in a sensitive and critical situation regarding the aggression they are facing. He also confirmed Iraq's continued provision of relief materials and assistance to bolster the resilience of the Lebanese people.
For his part, Mr. Mikati expressed his appreciation for Iraq's supportive and principled stance towards Lebanon, emphasizing the necessity of intensifying efforts and joint Arab and Islamic work to stop the aggression against Lebanon and Gaza.
