The First Vice President of Iran, Mohammad Reza Aref, stated that the views of Iran and Qatar on regional and international issues, especially political issues in the region, are very close.

Sources reported this evening, Saturday, on the importance of constructing the longest underwater tunnel in the world between Iran and Qatar, quoting Reza Aref as saying: "Iran and Qatar are pursuing this major plan.

He emphasized the importance of building the longest underwater tunnel in the world between Iran and Qatar, adding that "the two countries are pursuing this grand plan, and the Islamic Republic of Iran has appointed a specialized team for preliminary studies that will be sent to Doha for negotiations in the coming weeks.

And Aref continued, saying: There is no limit to enhancing bilateral relations in all fields, and it is essential to emphasize the joint cooperation committees between the two countries to surpass the current level of mutual relations.

The First Vice President of Iran emphasized the necessity of following up on the remaining issues in the memorandum of understanding regarding Qatar's participation in the development of the Deir Port in Bushehr Province, noting that "in the coming weeks, the head of the Ports and Maritime Organization of the Islamic Republic of Iran will head to Doha to finalize matters in this regard.

Sources quoted Qatar's ambassador to Tehran, Saad bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud Al Sharif, as saying, "The Emir of Qatar and the Iranian president insisted that the level of economic relations should reach the level of political relations. We hope that the agreements signed between the two parties will be implemented as soon as possible, as Iran and Qatar have a great desire in this area and are keen on developing trade and economic relations.

Mohammed Al-Sharif pointed out that the two countries have been living side by side for hundreds of years and share many historical, social, and cultural commonalities. He mentioned that senior officials in Doha have instructed him to attempt to elevate the political and economic relations between the two countries.
