Prime Minister Mr. Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani directs the swift departure from paper transactions in customs and the adoption of electronic transformation. 

Today, Monday, Prime Minister Mr. Mohammed Shia' Al-Sudani chaired a meeting to follow up on the procedures for automating customs work, during which the detailed plan for implementing the second phase of the automation process was reviewed.

The meeting witnessed a discussion on the mechanisms of the transformation and automation process at border crossings and checkpoints, where 11 crossings were completed, targeting the most revenue-generating and most prepared crossings for the transition from paper-based to electronic handling.

His Excellency directed the completion of the fiber optic cable installation and its connection to all remaining crossings, which will contribute to the transfer and availability of information at all ports.

The Prime Minister reiterated the importance of moving away from paper transactions in customs and adopting automated electronic transactions to ensure the success of this program adopted by the government, as it is one of the most important pillars of economic and administrative reform, achieving efficiency, transparency, and simplification of procedures, in addition to maximizing the state's financial revenues.
