Due to a luminous object over Sudan... Air France suspends its flights over the Red Sea.

On Sunday, Air France announced that it had suspended "until further notice" its flights over the Red Sea area as a "precautionary measure" after its crew reported the presence of a "shining object" over Sudan.

The company stated in a statement: "Air France confirms that it has decided, as a precautionary measure, to suspend flights over the Red Sea area until further notice.

The statement added that this decision was made following the "detection of a luminous object at a high altitude" in Sudan, according to Agence France-Presse.

The company explained that the flight paths of some of its flights were changed, and some planes returned to the airports from which they took off.

She emphasized that the safety of her clients and crews is an "absolute necessity," noting that she continuously monitors the geopolitical situation in the areas her planes serve and fly over "to ensure the highest level of safety and security for flights.

A source in the aviation field told AFP that Air France is "the only airline that took this precautionary measure," adding that the airspace over the area was not closed.
