On Thursday, the head of the Kurdistan Region Election Commission at the Independent High Electoral Commission, Nabard Omar, revealed the invalidation of more than 200,000 votes in the sixth session of the Kurdistan Region Parliament elections. 

Omar said during a press conference followed by "Al-Awla" that the commission has received about 160 complaints so far, adding that these elections held in the Kurdistan region were very successful.
He added that 6,318 polling stations were opened in the region during the elections, and there were no issues except for 26 stations in Erbil, Duhok, and Sulaymaniyah, confirming that the operations were carried out very successfully.
He continued by saying that the participation rate was high in these elections compared to the elections that took place in the region in 2021, noting that the total number of invalid votes in the 2021 elections was about 197,000 votes, while in these elections it was 208,000 votes.
For his part, the spokesperson for the commission, Aser Yasin, said during the same conference that the commission has not yet recorded a red complaint in the Kurdistan Parliament elections for the year 2024.
