The President of Iraq, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, received an official invitation on Tuesday from the Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to visit Cairo and participate in the World Urban Forum.
The media office of the Presidency stated in a statement that "President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid received a message from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, which includes an official invitation to participate in the World Urban Forum to be held in Cairo from November 4 to 8."
The office pointed out that "the invitation reached the president during his reception today, Tuesday, at the Baghdad Palace, of the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Iraq, Ahmed Samir."
He stated that "at the beginning of the meeting, Ambassador Ahmed Samir conveyed President Sisi's greetings to the President of the Republic and his wishes for His Excellency's good health and success and for the Iraqi people more prosperity and well-being."
The president, according to the statement, expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the invitation, entrusting the Egyptian ambassador with his sincere greetings to "President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi" and pointing to "the depth of historical relations with the Arab Republic of Egypt and the importance of expanding the horizons of bilateral cooperation to achieve the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples for progress and development."
