The Prime Minister, Mr. Mohammed Shia' Al-Sudani, received today, Sunday, the new head of the UNAMI mission in Iraq and the UN Special Representative, Mr. Mohammed Al-Hassan.
During the meeting, the nature of the relationship between Iraq and the international organization was discussed, especially after the Security Council issued resolution number (2732) regarding the end of the mission in Iraq. This came in light of the messages sent by the Prime Minister to the Secretary-General of the United Nations and the President of the Security Council, during which it was emphasized that the government will continue to enhance stability and complete political construction and security stability. His Excellency appreciated the efforts made by the mission over the past years, indicating that the relationship will continue with all international institutions and organizations.
His Excellency, during the meeting, expressed his condemnation and denunciation of the Zionist aggression that targeted UNIFIL forces in Lebanon, resulting in injuries to several of its personnel. He affirmed that this attack proves the Zionist entity has crossed all lines and violated international laws and regulations, pointing to the necessity of international action in light of important international calls for a ban.
