The Israeli army announced in a statement on Tuesday that the forces of the 146th division began, on Monday, what they described as limited ground operations against targets and infrastructure of Hezbollah in the western sector of southern Lebanon.
The spokesperson for the Israeli army, Avichai Adraee, stated in a post on X, "The forces of the 146th division, which includes the 2nd and 205th brigades, have begun a targeted and limited ground operation in the western sector of southern Lebanon" against Hezbollah's targets and infrastructure, "following a year that was focused on defensive activities along the northwestern border."
He pointed out that "the 146th Brigade is the first reserve unit to engage in combat in southern Lebanon as part of the Northern Arrows campaign, where it operates alongside artillery forces and additional troops to uncover and destroy the enemy's infrastructure."
It is noted that the western sector in southern Lebanon includes a coastal area adjacent to the Mediterranean Sea. In this context, the Israeli army issued a warning on Monday to fishermen and beachgoers to stay away from the coast.
And Adraee issued a warning via a post on X on Monday, "to those vacationing and present on the beach, as well as anyone using boats for fishing or any other purpose south of the Awali River line."
