I, Ramsi Hikmat, candidate number 205 for the Christian quota representing the Babilyon Movement in Erbil, would like to clarify the following to the public:
Today, I received a call from an entity claiming to be part of the Asayish in the Kurdistan Region, threatening to kill me if I do not withdraw my candidacy for the regional parliamentary elections in favor of the Christian quota candidates of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP).
I have recorded the conversation and will submit it, along with all the evidence, through an official letter and formal complaint to the following:
United Nations Office in Erbil
General Consulates in Erbil
Independent High Electoral Commission
I hold Mr. Masoud Barzani, President of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, personally responsible for my safety and the safety of my family. We, in the Babilyn Movement, will not be subservient to anyone. We are here to demonstrate the strength of our community, and we fear no one.
