As part of enhancing mutual cooperation between Iraq and Turkey and providing support for Iraqis residing in Turkey, the Minister of Migration and Displaced Persons, Ms. Ivan Faik Jabro, signed a memorandum of understanding with Turkish Interior Minister Mr. Ali Yerlikaya. The memorandum, which was signed during the minister's visit to Ankara, aims to facilitate the voluntary return of Iraqis who wish to return to their homeland.
The signing was attended by the Iraqi Ambassador to Ankara, Mr. Majid al-Lajmawi, along with several Turkish officials. This step is part of the Iraqi government's efforts to secure support and assistance for Iraqi citizens abroad, enabling them to return to Iraq under better conditions.
The memorandum includes providing all necessary facilitation for Iraqis wishing to return, in cooperation with the Turkish Ministry of Interior and the Immigration Department. This reflects both countries' commitment to enhancing humanitarian cooperation and finding sustainable solutions to migration and refugee issues.
