Iraqi ports deny the presence of highly explosive materials and affirm the implementation of international safety procedures.

Farhan Al-Fartusi, the General Director of the Iraqi Ports Company, confirmed that there are no highly explosive materials in Iraqi ports, especially at Umm Qasr port, during recent statements. Al-Fartusi noted that Iraqi ports adhere to strict international regulations and standards related to the classification of hazardous materials, which include nine categories. He explained that highly explosive materials, such as those classified in categories 1 and 2, are handled with extreme caution and are swiftly removed from the ports upon arrival to ensure operational safety.

Regarding other materials that carry lower risks, such as batteries, chemicals, and perfumes (classification 8), Al-Fartusi affirmed that these materials are handled according to standard procedures and are delivered directly to beneficiaries. He emphasized that Iraqi ports are fully secured and that all necessary precautionary measures are taken to ensure public safety.
